Wal-mart earnings are apparently falling precipaticely, or so I read. I think it's interesting that home delivery companies like fresh direct and netflix are popping up - maybe the old model's become economical again. I used to be much more into these doomsday theories about big corporations killing america, becoming a law unto themselves, but I don't think that's true anymore. It's all cycles. We've just been through a rather ugly one, granted, but I'd still take the enlightened self-interest consumer model over anything else I've heard of. The folks in power right now are just rebelling against their socialist-leaning world-weary great depression-WWII-Vietnam parents, so we'll all rebel against them and then Woodstock part deux.
